Paralegal Programs Offered
Cuyamaca College offers a paralegal associate of science degree for those interested in pursuing a career as a paralegal. The degree offers students the chance to develop the skills needed to work in a legal setting for a law firm, the government, or a corporation.
The paramedic program offered through the college is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA). It is also reviewed on a regular basis by leaders within the field including attorneys, practicing paralegals, and judges. The program consists of required courses, electives, and general studies. Once completing at least 18 hours of the required paralegal courses students are eligible for the internship portion of the program. Typically a student will be able to complete the degree within two years.
Prospective paralegal students must first be accepted into the college through the admissions department. Successful candidates for the program will have a broad educational background and be able to specialize their skills in specific legal areas. Students should have good reading and writing skills as this is a large part of the degree and the job.
