The Center for Advanced Legal Studies is located on Kirby Drive in Houston, Texas.
Kirby Drive can be reached off the Southwest Freeway.
The center is located in the Madras Pavillion.
The Kata Robata Sushi & Grill and the McGonigel’s Mucky Duck are two restaurants located just down the block from the college.
Levy Park is located a couple of blocks away as well.
Programs Offered
The Center for Advanced Legal Studies is unique in the fact that it only offers legal programs.
The college offers both an Associate Degree and a certificate program in paralegal studies.
The center also offers a Post-baccalaureate certificate program.
Program Schedule
The paralegal certificate program consists of 30 credit hours and takes 7 months to complete as a full-time student and 10 months to complete as a part-time student.
The associate paralegal degree program consists of 62 credit hours and takes 15 months to complete as a full-time student and 19 months to complete going part-time.
Program Requirements
The associate degree program is an intense course of study in many areas of the law including specialty law courses such as criminal law, immigration law, trusts, probates, and wills.
There are general education requirements as well as computer courses.
Students in the associate degree program are required to complete an internship as well.
The certificate program is designed for those individuals who already have a college degree of any type.
It is designed to streamline an individual’s education with classes pertaining to the areas of the law that are the most employable.
