There is a lot of parking available in the area as well as public transportation services that serve the area.
The Farmers Branch Historical Park is located just a few blocks from the campus.
Programs Offered
Kaplan College offers both a certificate program and an Associate in Applied Science degree in paralegal studies.
The programs are both approved by the American Bar Association.
Program Schedule and Requirements
The certificate program offers classes that take place during the day Monday through Friday.
There is also a night program available, which requires fewer credit hours.
This is mainly because the daytime program requires an externship to be completed to complete the program.
The program stresses practical skills over theoretical knowledge.
The associate of applied science degree requires additional general education courses as well as the required courses for the paralegal studies degree.
Some of the courses a student can expect to take include legal research, contracts, civil litigation, criminal law, estate planning, wills, trusts, personal injury, and torts.
Communication techniques, critical thinking skills, and research skills, as well as a number of different externship opportunities, are also completed as part of the program.
