Galveston College started offering its new Paralegal Studies program in the fall 2025 semester.

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Paralegal Studies program aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills that they need to support attorneys, navigate the court systems, and perform other duties that lead to their success in the legal field.

The 60-credit paralegal studies program prepares students to work as paralegals, legal researchers, legal assistants, law office administrators, or choose from several other legal career options.

Program graduates meet the requirements to transfer to a four-year school where they can earn a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies.

Students learn the same skills and use the same legal terminology and legal technology that is used in today’s legal offices.

They also learn about ethical obligations, professional trends in the paralegal industry, and regulations for paralegals.
