Certified paralegals may qualify to become a Florida Registered Paralegal by successfully completing the Paralegal Advanced Competency Exam (PACE) or the Certified Legal Assistant/Certified Paralegal Exam that is offered by the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA).

The University of South Florida was founded in 1956.

The University of West Florida offers its Online Paralegal Certificate through its Continuing Education Department.
The school recognizes that there is a demand for paralegals who have technical skills, in addition to the basic skills and knowledge that paralegals gain when they enroll in a paralegal program.
The school partnered with the Center for Legal Studies, a BARBRI Company, to provide students with a comprehensive paralegal program that students can access at any time.
